First time I have not been in school.
First big road trip.
First time writing a blog.
It wasn't all that long ago that I did not even know what a blog was. I know that is hard to believe, especially in an era where kids have cell phones before they know how to tie there shoes, but it is true. I am attempting to blog (blog can be used as a verb, right?), so bear with me as I stumble through the learning process. I figured this was the best way to keep the fam and everyone else updated on my exploits as I prepare to head out into the wild blue yonder for an undetermined amount of time.
After getting burnt out on school, escaping to the mountains seemed like the only logical choice. Growing up so near to Yosemite, the mountains have called my name from a very young age. I am so incredibly stoked to be answering that call. In just a few days I will be stuffing about 80% of my belongings into my little blue Subaru Impreza which I call Shark.
Shark, myself, and a couple of friends from work will be barreling across the barren planes of Nevada and Utah. After spending a couple of weeks climbing in Utah, we will move onto Colorado, where I plan to spend the bulk of my time.
With no time restrictions or firm plan, the flexible nature of this trip holds a ton of potential. I cannot wait to meet people and see new places. But most of all, I cannot wait for all the climbing, mountain biking, rafting, hiking, fishing, kayaking, backpacking, and general outdoors awesomeness! Now I just have to survive the mayhem that is packing! :)
